About Unite for Hope

Unite in hope for all Australians impacted by upper GI cancers.

Each week, 218 Australians are diagnosed with an upper gastrointestinal cancer. With some of the lowest survival rates out of all the major cancers, Unite for Hope is about helping create greater awareness and action to fuel progress that improves outcomes.

Previously known as Walk for Hope, our Unite for Hope event is Pancare Foundation’s largest community fundraising event. After the success of our virtual offering during COVID-19 lockdown, we will be running location-based events in 2021, along with a ‘Do it Your Way’ option, which provides the opportunity for our regional and remote community members to get involved on the day!

While we used to spread our events out over the year, the impact and awareness we were able to raise by holding Unite for Hope on the one-day last year was just incredible. With such positive feedback from the community, we have decided that we will once again undertake Unite for Hope as a National Day of Action!

Unite for Hope is our national physical or DIY event, uniting all Australians impacted by pancreatic, liver, stomach, biliary and oesophageal cancers. This national day of action will take place on

If you aren’t able to join us at a Pancare location event you may choose to ‘Do it your way’ but undertaking a walk or run in your local community with friends and family. Wherever you choose to participate remember to follow us on Instagram and Facebook so that we can share your wonderful achievements with fellow participants on the day - don’t forget to tag #pancareuniteforhope so we can help amplify our message!

Since its inception this event has raised over $XXXXX helping the Pancare Foundation deliver its support services to patients and their families, fund world-class research and continue to raise awareness of the under-funded and poorly understood upper gastrointestinal cancers.
